Spring End Grinding Webinar Presented by WAFIOS

Thursday, November 5, 2026 (1:00 PM - 5:00 PM) (EST)

Description

In partnership with WAFIOS, SMI will once again offer a special webinar on spring end grinding on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026, from 1 to 5 p.m. EST via Microsoft Teams.

The class is part of SMI’s spring design and manufacturing education series. The Spring End Grinding Training Course provides an in-depth overview of the fundamental principles of spring end grinding. Participants will gain advanced technical knowledge of machinery, processes, technology, automation and software used in spring end grinding applications. Students will learn about the grinding process within the broader context of spring manufacturing, including the correlation between process parameters and influencing factors—knowledge essential for efficient process control and cost optimization.

Each student will receive presentation slides, a commemorative T-shirt and a certificate of completion. Students will be able to ask spring end grinding–related questions about issues they’ve had.

The course instructor, Simon Haase, is an applications engineer for WAFIOS at the company’s Midwest training center in Mokena, Illinois. He specializes in spring end grinding technology and applications for the EV industry. Prior to moving to the U.S. in 2023, he spent six years with WAFIOS in Reutlingen, Germany, as the technology engineer for the spring end grinding department. He studied mechanical engineering in Dresden, Germany.

The cost for the program is $170 for SMI members and $450 for non-members (with discounts for multiple students).
