Learn the essentials of spring mechanics and materials in this live, full-day class Oct. 6 at SpringWorld 2026. The class runs from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Room 2, Level 1 of the Conference Center at the Donald E. Stephens Convention & Conference Center, Rosemont, Illinois. Designed as a spring engineering primer for new technicians and a refresher for existing ones, this full-day program introduces engineering vocabulary, core concepts and material knowledge.

The class will be led by Al Mangels, retired chief technical advisor and former president of Lee Spring Company and C. Richard (Rick) Gordon, SMI technical director. Participants receive a 30-day ASD7 license and a set of class presentation slides. Completion certificates are available upon request. Lunch, drinks, and snacks are included.
Tuition is $295 for SMI members and $425 for nonmembers. Additional non-member participants from the same company may register for $375 each. Registration and payment are due by September 21, 2026.
