The Spring Manufacturers Institute (SMI) in partnership with Able Electropolishing Co., Inc. is pleased to offer SMI members a complimentary webinar, Electropolishing 101, with a focus on springs on Thursday, September 4, 2025, 11 a.m. – 12 Noon EDT using Microsoft Teams. For specific alloys, electropolishing can be the difference between success and failure for some spring fatigue type applications.
In this webinar, students will learn:
•How the electropolishing process works
•The multiple benefits of electropolishing, including improved cycle life for springs
•How electropolishing compares with passivation
•Metal alloys compatible with electropolishing and limitations
•Various SEM photos showing results before and after electropolishing
Students will have the opportunity to seek opinions and clarification in the Q&A session following the presentation. This class will benefit students by increasing their knowledge of the electropolishing process.
